The new canes of the “McCane Family” are of high quality.
The Canes are the most important supporting products of blind and visually severely impaired people. They facilitate their orientation, increase their mobility and reduce their dependence on other people.
The new canes of the McCane Family are of high quality. Their tubes are made out of anodized aluminum-alloy as it is used in the aircraft-industry. They are light and thin-walled but very robust, resistant and of flexural strength.
They are covered with reflective foils, have comfortable grips of hardwood or other natural or artificial materials.
The McCane Family offers only folding- and telefold canes at the present time but is busy developing other family-members.
The segments of the foldable Canes are kept together with a rubber-band inside the tubes. The rubber-band can be tightened in case of demand.
The segment next to the grip of the telefold cane is a telescopic segment. It can be used to enlarge or reduce the length of the cane.
Each segment has as male and a female-plugging unit to connect with the other segments. The connections are conically optimized so that they are without play and do not freeze together at low temperatures.
The users of the canes can choose and connect their own cane-tips by using the provided hook.
Pipe- and the connection system are made out of anodized aluminum-alloy as it is used in the aircraft-industry.
The grips are of hardwood or other natural or artificial materials.
The users can select their own preferred tips and can put them into the Cane themselves.
The lengths of the segments of the telefold canes is about 25 cm (or less), the lengths of the segments of the folding cane about 22 cm (or less).
The lengths of the unfolded canes are 780 - 180 cm, the number of segments of the cane 3-7.
